Classroom Program 2018-19 Leg 1

Delhi Public School Gurgaon had the privilege of being selected as a participating school for the “Swiss-Indian Classroom Project”. This is a student exchange program sponsored by MOVETIA & Stiftung Mercator Switzerland. The program provides an excellent opportunity on international collaboration across cultures through thematic partnerships between schools in both the countries. The participating students get an opportunity to grow while taking up challenges during the program and improve interpersonal and communication skills.

In a step towards successful conduct of the Program, two teachers from the participating school, KZU (KantonsschuleZurcherUnterland) ,Switzerland, Ms. Corrine Elsener and Ms. Pamela Brunner, visited our school in the month of July 2018. The pre-visit program ensured a great interaction with faculty, staff and other members of Team DPS Gurgaon. The project in charges from both schools matched the profiles of the participating students. Special interactions were also organized with our Principal Ms. Aditi Misra to ensure great guidance and support to the Program. The Pre-visit involved visit to local cultural heritage sites in and around Delhi, meeting up with the families of the teachers and increased social interaction to ensure cultural integration.

Two senior teachers from our school, Ms. Rati Chugh and Ms. Shraddha Bhatnagar also visited Zurich, Switzerland in September 2018. This was a return visit to KZU at Bulach, Zurich. The project coordinators worked on the finer details of the project work to be done as a part of the program. The visiting teachers from India got a sneak peek into the robust Swiss education system, local customs and cultures and a taste of local cuisine and lifestyle.

The pre-visit was followed by a parent meeting wherein the teachers shared their experiences and exchanged notes on the forthcoming visit.
